2024 Spring: SUU Human Anatomy for Teachers Online Course

This human anatomy teaching course has three main objectives that will be the focus of the course:

1. Identify and understand the essential principles of human anatomy including basic chemistry, cell and tissue studies, and an overview of all the major body systems. 
2. Discuss current events in human anatomy. 
3. Develop lessons and activities, using the content information, that can be used in your classrooms to help students better grasp and relate to the information.

This is a content and 3D pedagogy course. This course also incorporates the Utah SEEd Standards which include NGSS science practices, crosscutting concepts and disciplinary core ideas.  Lesson plan creation is part of the course.  Emphasis is on best practices used to teach this content in a classroom.  The estimated time commitment is 6-8 hours a week. 

This 12 week course is only done over the set 12 week period.  Participants are not able to "move at your own pace" but work within the module assigned for that week.   Modules cannot be unlocked ahead of the scheduled time.

This Online Endorsement Course meets the Utah State Science Endorsement Course Requirements for:

• Biology 2: Anatomy and/or Physiology (Does not include the 1.0 credit lab experience.)

Upon successful completion, the participants will receive 3.0 Southern Utah University Credits. The $69 credit fee will be paid by the participate directly to SUU at the start of the course.

By registering and paying, you agree that if you are not able to attend you will cancel at least 2 weeks before the class starts or your registration fees will be forfeited. Courses dropped after the course has started are not refundable.
