2023 SUMMER: Zoology for Teachers - Online Endorsement Course

This course is an introduction to the systematics, anatomy, and physiology of the animal kingdom. The course will examine the structure and function of animal organ systems in the framework of the evolution of adaptations. This course also deals with the study of the structure and bodily functions of animals; their habits; where and how they live; their relations to one another and to their environment; and their classification including theories and laws that relate to animal life.

This Online Endorsement Course meets the Utah State Science Endorsement Course Requirements for:

  • Biological Science I: Zoology

This is a content and classroom teaching course.  Lesson plan creation is part of the course. Emphasis is on best practices used to teach this content in your classroom. Additionally, the online science endorsement courses require participants to practice the science lessons in either a classroom setting or with a group of at least five individuals (can be family, friends, neighbors, etc.). In signing up for this course, you may need to be able to have weekly access to one of these two settings to complete assignments.

Upon successful completion, the participants will receive 3.0 Southern Utah University Credits.

By registering and paying, you agree that if you are not able to attend you will cancel at least 2 weeks before the class starts or your registration fees will be forfeited. Courses dropped after the start date will not be refunded.
