2019 SUMMER-UtSTA/UEN/SUU EARTH SYSTEMS SCIENCE Online Endorsement Course

  • Join the Utah Science Teachers Association and save $150 on this course and other USTA/UEN Courses for a year.
This is an integrated introduction to the earth system stressing the geological, biological, chemical, and physical interactions among the atmosphere, ocean, and solid earth. The course applies basic scientific and mathematical concepts to explain the history and behavior of the earth system. The course includes discussions of topics that are relevant to a wide range of scientists and engineers, such as the physical basis of climate change, weather and oceanography. 

The course emphasizes content and teaching practices that can be used in the classroom.

This Online Endorsement Course meets the Utah State Science Endorsement Course Requirements for:

  • Middle Level Science (Pathway 2): Earth Systems Science OR Weather/Meteorology

This course requires participants to practice the science lessons in either a classroom setting or with a group of at least five individuals (can be family, friends, neighbors, etc.). You will need to have weekly access to one of these two settings to complete assignments.

Upon successful completion, the participants will receive 3.0 Southern Utah University Credits for IELP 5220 Science: Modern Physics (included in the cost of the course).
