EVENT DETAILS
Genetics is the study of heredity and how traits are passed from one generation to another, how these traits are affected by environmental factors, and the molecular basis for these traits. It requires background knowledge from both Biology and Chemistry to fully understand the concepts presented. It's important to note that this is a college-level course and you will be expected to understand the material at a much higher level than you will likely incorporate in your classroom.
This is a content and 3D pedagogy course. This course also incorporates the Utah SEEd Standards which include NGSS science practices, crosscutting concepts and disciplinary core ideas. Lesson plan creation is part of the course. Emphasis is on best practices used to teach this content in a classroom. Estimated time commitment is 6-8 hours a week.
This 12 week course is only done over the set 12 week period. Participants are not able to "move at your own pace" but work within the module assigned for that week. Modules cannot be unlocked ahead of the scheduled time.
