Registration

  • This registration will pay for course registration fees for one person for the week of Astronomy at UtSTA member rate. UVU 3 semester hours of credit need to be purchased separately, information coming soon. This cost is fully reimbursable.
  • YOU CAN JOIN UtSTA TODAY AND SAVE $600 ON THIS REGISTRATION.

Astronomy

Description: This course will focus on learning and teaching Astronomy.  This week long course will include inquiry style learning with methods to reach and engage students in the study of Astronomy.  Fabulous evening viewing opportunities occur each evening of the course.  This is a field experience with night time viewing.  You will be able to use a telescope to find objects in the sky during this workshop.  The Castle Dale area has gorgeous night skies and Emery High School is very gracious to host the event.  This UtSTA Astronomy workshop is much more than a paper pencil class and UtSTA looks forward to hosting you for the week.

IMPORTANT COURSE INFORMATION:
  • 3 semester hours of BYU Credit must be paid in addition to registration. BYU credits cost $47 per credit for a total of $141. To pay for BYU credits, you will need to go to the following link: https://cereg.byu.edu/o3/user/registration/start/directAdd/true/product_id/10134187
  • Overnight Accommodations and Meals will be provided for all participants.
  • We will meet in Castle Dale at 11:00 AM on June 19th and complete the class by Noon on June 23rd, 2023.  Overnight stay is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday nights.

Registration Costs are to cover the course instructor, meeting location(s), supplies, overnight accommodations and meals (Breakfast, lunch and dinner during stay).  NOTE: If you are not a current member of UtSTA you can renew your membership or join the Utah Science Teachers Association today ($10-15/year) and save $250 on your registration costs.  To join today, CLICK HERE.

By registering and paying, you agree that if you are not able to attend you will cancel at least 4 weeks before the class starts or your registration fees will be forfeited.
