USBE has instituted a reimbursement program for teachers getting their endorsements. You qualify to get reimbursed the full $500 if you pass with a C or better, IF YOUR DISTRICT is willing to work with USBE. Contact your district for details and for verification that you will be reimbursed. UtSTA, will NOT be reimbursing you. If your district does not participant in this new program, the $500 is not refundable.
This course is intended for students that need General Chemistry II. Students should have completed General Chemistry I prior to starting this course.
Particularly, students should be familiar with chemical bonding, intermolecular forces, molecular geometry, atomic and quantum theory, stoichiometric calculations, periodicity, thermodynamics, and spontaneity.
This Online Endorsement Course meets the Utah State Science Endorsement Course Requirements for:
- Chemistry: General/Inorganic Chemistry II
- Physical Science: General/Inorganic Chemistry II
This is a content teaching course. Emphasis is on best practices used to teach this content in your classroom. Additionally, the online science endorsement courses require participants to practice the science lessons in either a classroom setting or with a group of at least five individuals (can be family, friends, neighbors, etc.). In signing up for this course, you may need to be able to have weekly access to one of these two settings to complete assignments.
Upon successful completion, the participants will receive 3.0 Southern Utah University Credits (included in the cost of the course).
