SEEd
Standards Review is Open!
UtSTA
is very excited to support the new SEEd standards
put forth by the Utah State Board of Education. We
encourage all of our members to attend a public
forum near you or one of the three online public
sessions (times and locations on the USBE website), as well as submit
an online review here. If you haven't had a
chance to look at the new K-5 and 9-12 SEEd
standards, you may do so here.

Governor's
Office of Energy Award
Congratulations
to Jared Eliason from Manti High
School in South Sanpete District for receiving the
new Governor's Office of Energy Award!
STEM
Action Center Grants
Classroom and Competition grants will only be
opened once next year NOT 3 times. This will be
open around mid-August to end of September, so get
your ideas solidified and
submitted!
The
Professional
Learning Grant
will be open February
11th until March
26th. This can be used to provide money
to attend the NSTA Regional Conference in October
including covering
registration
and subs.
Job
Opening at NHMU
The
Natural History Museum of Utah has received an NSF
grant and
is looking for a creative
person with strong curriculum development and
writing skills to help as they grow Research
Quest. Click here to view the job description

Film
Spark Workshops
Utah
Film Center instructors will provide training on
how to integrate documentary film screenings into
the classroom. Workshop includes watching a Film
Spark film, and learning best practices for using
the accompanying curriculum. Upon completion, each
teacher team will receive a Film Spark Volume 2,
which includes 12 STEM-related documentaries and
standards-linked study guides.
Workshops
are open to educators grades 6-12, and will be
